While painting with watercolor I’ve found out its not wise to trust the pigment while on your palate (or in my case glass plate). To see if the color I mixed is right for what I need I’ll often take a dap or two on a scrap piece of paper. This allows me to see what the pigment will really look like when it dries. When the night is done I’ll end up with a whole stack of scrap paper full of my unconscious brush strokes. Feeling bad throwing away all that paper I decided one night to draw right on them. I use the shapes of the brush stroke plus my imagination to dictate what it will turn up. Totally an Abstract children’s book style all the while paying homage and borrowing vernacular from everything you can imagine under the sun. I would one day like to really do something with this type of paintings. Perhaps a book full of millions of these? More on the way soon!
I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
